I finished my Computer Science degree a few months before the dot com collapse of 2000. I worked briefly for a .com doing basic web work and then developed a full featured POS system that integrated with an access database.
I then moved to Topfloor Computers where highlights included working for the BC Attorney General, migrating and merging the data from their courthouse all around the provinces. I also managed to work on the first of many web projects with an online business card building system
After Topfloor I got a chance to work on a very neat concept at datawitness.net, an online document system that was integrated with a Kodak microfiche server. I wrote a database system that would monitor changes in online documents - these documents would be legally binding. Imagine being able to reach an agreement for a large purchase online without the use of a notary - unfortunatley the company was short of funding to complete the project but recent checks on their website indicate they may have finished the system.
I am currently working as PHP/MySQL lead developer/Project Manager for an online marketing company. I also do programming side projects for small web design companies in the Comox Valley and local area.
Most of my projects are fairly large in scope (100+ tables is not unusual) and I have moved from doing information collection and database mailing to work with outside API's (merchant companies, PayPal, Enom, Virtual Money) as well as extensive graphics work with GD and ImageMagick. Here is a short list of what I have written for our current project

- Ticketing Systems with email notification and followups
- Integration with outside scripting companies and lead providers
- Multi-Table real time reporting for a variety of purposes
- Analyzing trends and monitoring reporting systems
